BBL is spinning of a new company called South32. As a BBL stockholder, I should be getting shares in the new company. I do not yet see these new shares in my account. Has anyone else gotten the new shares yet or know whe

Tim covered it a while ago. I don't think it has gone to vote yet so it's probably going to be a quarter or two until you get the new shares if it passes.

Oh nice ... I haven't received any shares in my account yet ...

Quote:The global miner was the biggest laggard for the Monday after its spin-off South 32 settled down at A$2.050. Shares in the A$11 billion ($8.81 billion) spin-off first traded at A$2.13 - the lower end of the A$2.00 to A$3.00 range forecast by analysts - when it made its debut at midday in Australia. South32 shares will also list on exchanges in the U.K. and South Africa later in the day.

Did any of you guys get your South32 shares? I thought I'd have them by now.

It looks from this announcement that you're looking at "on or about" May 29.

Okay, thank you. I was on their site the other day and somehow missed it.

I got my shares 2 days ago. I owned 28 shares of BBL and received 11 shares SOUHV per the 5:2 exchange ratio.

Is BBL still worth buying now that the demerger is done? I had it on my watch list and missed my chance to buy earlier.

I bought 150 shares in Feb.There's a lot of moving parts to the de-merger and I'm going to wait for a while until everything shakes out. I've read the financials and listened to some of the conference calls. Management seems top notch and since I have no Materials exposure, and they are the best of the Materials stocks, along with Rio Tinto, and maybe a few "lesser knowns". I'm going to hold and maybe add a few shares, here and there. I feel commodities and materials can be very volatile. I like the dividend, it was $1.24 in March (dividend distributions are made twice a year). The last price was $43.73 and M* rates it 4stars, whtatever that means.

Thanks for the info. I like the dividend too, but I was holding out until later since it is only twice a year and now looks like I missed out on this split. I need a materials stock so I'll keep watching this one.
