I'll point out that WHR's current market cap is around $15B. So the $2.5B in repurchase authorization is worth roughly 17% of the current shares outstanding.

That sounds pretty good Eric. WHR have had a good run in past year. Still a buy in your opinion?

RE: Dividend Announcement Thread! - fenders53 - 04-21-2021

I would need a pullback but WHR is one those that got away. Appliance demand was incredible during Covid but they just couldn't deliver due to supply chain issues that lasted 6 months. Revenues should have been enormous instead of good. I wouldn't call them over valued though. Just cyclical.

I'd consider it fairly valued. It's trading right around its normal PE ratio, and with the demand for appliances seemingly strong I think earnings will continue to grow in the near term.

However, while analysts are expecting 15% growth this year they are showing negative growth for 2022, so there are concerns about long-term prospects.

I don't own it personally. Nothing wrong with buying a starter position here if you are interested for the long-term, but after a 350% run-up from last year's low I don't know that I'd jump all-in.

Thanks, I was hoping for a Fast Graphs chart. It says about what I expected. I held out a little too long hoping for my buy price 18 months ago. I actually took it off my watch list when I thought I had clearly missed it. The industry is enormously competitive. Appliance demand was nuts last summer and we actually printed out notes and labeled the models we knew you wouldn't receive for 60 days or more if you ordered today. Ordering a common appliance that wouldn't arrive next week was a new concept. Preferred brand choice came down to who could deliver. It's inconvenient to wait a month if your washer died. IMO appliance makers would be a better buy when the sky is at least cloudy. The dividend will no doubt be considerably higher.
