GE (NYSE:GE) says its offer to shareholders to exchange its common stock for shares of Synchrony Financial (NYSE:SYF) was oversubscribed by 3.2 times.The exchange will reduce the outstanding float of GE common stock by about 6.6% (671M shares), the equivalent of a $20.4B GE stock buyback.
