Regarding DGI style investing, I have basically abandoned it a while back and transitioned to growth. I basically still use the same metrics but took out the "dividend" aspect out of picking the individual equities because I found investing with the "dividend" as the decisionmaker was clouding my better judgement. What I found was I was still investing in high quality equities that a lot still paid a small dividend, but the capital growth has been really good.
Right now I have been slowly trimming to build a 10 to 15% cash position, which is a little harder to accomplish due to the fact I've been investing and in the accumulating phase a long time. I was going to retire at 62, knocked that down to 60 then 59 now I've decided to retire in 3 years at age 57.
