Twins hit 7 HRs the other day and lost. I don't think that is normal. Long season but I'll get a little fired up for the division runs and playoffs. My Cub fan friends are throwing some major tantrums today.

Twins played great for a few weeks AFTER they traded most of the decent players on the team.  Won three consecutive series against first place teams.  Have you ever noticed prospects trying to win a spot play 110% even when the season is lost?  I guess that's the upside to mid-season trades. 

Actually I will cheer for the White Sox as postseason approaches.  They were the Twins whipping boys for a decade.  They are very good now and I will root for them.

White Sox are a good choice. I'll go NL and root for the Braves.

All I can say is at least my Rangers aren't the Orioles. They're trying to break their losing streak from 1988. They really want next year's #1 pick.

It's quite something!  They are tied for 16th now on the all-time losing streak list, and with their next loss, they'll bump to the 12th spot.

I'm a die hard Giants fan so nice to see they are overachieving this with the best record in baseball. The trading for Kris Bryant was a great move. Curt Young has really turned around that pitching staff.

Welcome to the baseball thread.  Bryant was an icon around here.  Cubs needed to move on as this wasn't working, but the fans sure aren't digging it.  Some of their WS stars have some juice left and needed new scenery.  IMO a trade is a wake up call.  Your last team just told you that you might not be worth next years salary based on your recent performance.  It probably makes the game better.

Good game but I didn't like the ending. We need major upgrades to even play this well consistently.

Let's see what tonight brings.

If the Red Sox can hang onto a wild card spot, we could have another 1 game playoff between the Yankees and the Red Sox. If we line up Chris Sale for that, we may just be onto the first round of the playoffs (where we'd promptly get trounced).
