Taxes and Forms for Brokerage Account
#1
Hello all,

Will I be receiving any 1099s or anything similar to that for my brokerage account that I have.  I am a newbie here and opened brokerage account last year and have about 20K worth of div growth stocks.

What other info. do I need to have to file my taxes?

Thanks so much.

You will get a 1099 from your brokerage account for the dividends received and any stock sales that you had.

ok, thanks ChadR.

I didn't have any stock sales but I did buy some REITS.  I can just use the figures 1099 from brokerage in my tax returns then?  I don't have to do any additional calculations for REITs, or any profit/loss.

Thanks again.

You will need the 1099 for the dividend income and how much is qualified vs ordinary.
