What Did You Buy Today?
Added a few FB, AVGO, LDOS and TSM
Interesting note, at least I think so. Everybody knows I am UTE guy since forever. I stick to regulated utilities that I know. Last fall I got lured into a well hyped independent power provider due to articles and comments from fans on S.A. The put sale premiums were sweet so I sold puts for three months or so. Nothing huge but $150/month income. They are well diversified among energy types and multiple states so why not? Stock started to run the past month and I wished I had bought some long shares too. I knew they had some exposure in TX so I let options expire and didn't renew when they expired last Friday. What I didn't know is they project they are on the hook for 1-1.3B, an entire years revenue, due to Texas fiasco. Not profit but revenue. They haven't cleared a billion profit in their entire history to my knowledge. Stock dropped 30%+ since yesterday and I am amazed it isn't worse. new loans and Div cut coming no doubt. Vistro Evergy VST by the way. Back to regulated UTEs for me. Smile I wouldn't have gotten killed, but all gains would have vaporized in one day.
I'd appreciate some input on a new strategy. It's a 5-10 minute task so don't bother if you are busy today. Smile Thanks.

Yes, thought about buying costco today,( it's 20% down from highs). Then checked in fast graph and changed my mind. On the other hand LMT, NOC is still under valued.
I'm an idiot.

So, a couple of years ago I recommended that people buy Swedish Match (SWMA, Stockholm stock exchange) somewhere between I believe 300 and 350 SEK/share since it was finally cheap and they are almost always overvalued. Good company, market leader in a high growth industry (smokeless tobacco stuff = nicotine pouches, snuss, chewing tobacco etc)

But I didn't take my own advice. Like I said, I'm an idiot.

So now I finally initiated a position at slightly above 600/SEK share. Big Grin
I think the share price is about right at the moment, so this is no longer a "I'm buying because it's too cheap" play but rather a "I'm buying because I think the company will keep doing well" play.

You can look at RLX, same space in chinese market. It can be a dud or a gold mine. ( Most chinese tobacco is controlled by CCP at this time and smoking is HIGE there).
RLX does look interesting, however I personally don't think this vape thing will be big.
Everyone used to smoke because it was cool. Now it's not cool and people want to stop smoking.
Then everyone vaped for like a month because it was cool. Now it's not cool anymore.

But the company itself looks interesting, it's rare to have an IPO from a hype sector where both earnings and cash flows are positive. Definitely a good sign.

The real advantage with snus, nicotine pouches etc is that it's almost unnoticeable to others.
You get your nicotine, you get to indulge in your addiction, but others don't notice unless you want them to notice. You can use them indoors, you can use it in airplanes. People will always be addicted to something, that is for sure. We can just do our best to guess what the next thing is. Big Grin
